First Ward Community Center
History
Our Story
Since its beginnings more than 75 years ago,
the First Ward Community Center
has stood as a symbol of hope and opportunity.
As a center for area children,
FWCC became closely identified with its athletic programs,
teams and leagues, and earned a reputation for helping to
develop and inspire our local talent.
Today, the Center still offers recreational programs,
and our mission has expanded.
We address many social problems
and issues and have broadened our scope
to include academics and enrichment for all ages.
Take a look. We are very proud of our history
and look forward to making a difference
in the lives of so many now and in the years to come.
